99 Things You Wish You Knew Before™...
The Greeks didn’t believe in obituaries. When a man died, all they asked was, “Did he have passion?” As a graduate from Montreal`s McGill University, Michael`s whole life has lead him to where he is today-pursuing his passion and dreams. Despite having a wonderful wife and family, Michael learned first things last. Realizing early that the entrepreneurial spirit drove him, Michael started a business in his late 20`s that grew dramatically over 20 years with annual sales of over $20M. Eventually he lost it all. Through it all Michael learned a very difficult lesson; Trust what you see not what you hear. He lost his business, but he never lost his vision. Always one to be the catalyst, Michael suddenly found himself living his worst nightmare; about to enter his 50’s and having to start all over again. It was the darkest point in his life. The only strength he could muster inside came from the un-wavering support of his wife and children. As they say, time heals all wounds so slowly he began to put the pieces of his life back together knowing full well, this was his last chance to make a difference to his family, but more importantly, to himself. His drive was back! He worked feverishly to make up for lost time, driving sales again in his usual consuming fashion in the clothing world when he decided to write his first book, Snapshots Of Heaven™ (www.snapshotsofheaven.com). His book earned him more than 80 radio interviews, HSN invited him to sell his Snapshots of Heaven™ book (along with a photo album and disposable camera as a package) and had several other television interviews as seen on his website. He got the bug! Always dreaming of working as an entrepreneur again, Snapshots of Heaven™ became both an exercise in love and catharsis. In 200 pages, he told 40 short, funny and memorable stories about his experiences with his two children growing up from birth to about 14 years old. Michael always believed that children take us to heaven and back before our time and his book was a call to all who loved children to enjoy every precious moment with them-before it’s too late. But Snapshots of Heaven™ turned out to be a dress rehearsal. As with all entrepreneurs, Michael grew restless and sought his next project, the 99 Book Series. He teamed up with partner Helen Georgaklis in November 2007 and together turned a concept into something magical. His attitude was, “We’re going for broke!” He finally had found a partner who not only resembled his attitude towards life, but worked equally hard to build what today has become the 99 book series library- One Stop Shop! Though the journey, as with all dreams, has been a rollercoaster ride, this time the ride has been powerful both to the forming of the 99 book series and all its authors, but to Michael, who knows all too well that despite overwhelming obstacles, you just KEEP GOING. You have to believe in yourself, you have to believe that you are doing the best you can do and you have to believe that without a fight, you’ll never achieve your goals. They say that nothing good comes easy and Michael knows first hand how true those words are but this experience has meant success is that much sweeter when you’ve finally overcome it all! His strength in sales and multi tasking skills learned over the years has come in handy for Michael in navigating the 99 Book Series-which has been called a pioneer in the industry and being the first business model of its kind. Michael lives in Montreal Canada with Laure, his wife of 23 years, and two teenage children Jeremy and Jenna.
