#6: Juggling Family Obligations

Yes, we have families, and they tend to demand a lot of our time. We provide for them, and we nurture and take care of them. However, the biggest obligation you have to your family is to stay alive, present, and functioning. So really, you have an obligation to yourself first before you can take care of anyone else.

It’s like when you’re on a plane and the stewardess tells you to place the oxygen mask on yourself before your child. Being healthy and happy are tools you need to stay on top of a busy family. Taking care of your own health has the incomparable benefit of setting a great example for your children and loved ones. Show them you care about yourself, and about them. It’s not selfish. It’s common sense.

#10: On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

And you’re off. Yep, right now! There’s no need to mark a day on your calendar to begin. You have already begun your journey to the fittest body you deserve. Don’t let procrastination cut you off at the ankles. Implementing any of these tips one at a time, one day at a time will pay dividends.

See how simple this is? You take small steps and make incremental changes. You are part way there. Well done.

Every minute of every day is the perfect time to make a conscious choice to make something you do a little bit more active. Today your #1 job is to look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are ready for a change. Make a contract with yourself on a piece of paper. It can be as simple and straightforward as “I {Sarah Robichaud insert your name here} vow to lead a more active lifestyle, improve my energy, and eat well. I am not going on a diet. I commit to simply making better choices that fuel the burning desire to look and feel great. Failure is not an option!”
