Being in the auto industry, I have seen others attempt this same venture. Andevery year, there is a new breed of unaware auto owners. So, I asked myself, what will make people want to read my book? One of the strategies was to make the book funny but I am not a comedienne. I take my profession very seriously. I want you, the reader or car owner, to take the maintenance of your vehicle seriously. It grates on my nerves that car owners do not see their vehicles as an investment.

Yes, I know, the vehicle depreciates when driven off the car lot. But it is stillan investment. Maintaining your vehicle properly is an investment in your future. Without your vehicle, you can’t earn the necessary funds needed for your creature comforts. There are several automotive repair books on the market, most all of them are boring. The last time I went to a bookstore, those books weren’t flying off the shelves, nor were the authors on Oprah’s book club list.

Keep this book where you can easily get to it. Anytime you doubt what your mechanic is telling youabout your vehicle refer to this book for guidance. Then, take a deep breath and calm down. If you don’t like what you’re hearing; take your vehicle for a second opinion. It’s your car. It’s your investment. You have the power. You’re in control of what’s being done to your vehicle. From this day forward, stand tall and take command of your vehicle.

The best source of information on maintaining a vehicle is found in the vehicle’s owner manual. Use this book as a guide. Be aware that some of the information will apply to your vehicle, and some won’t. The owner’s manual is written for ideal conditions.

This book is not about the dos and don’ts of vehicle maintenance. My objective is to help you save money over the long haul.

Money and emotion are two worlds that never go well together, like oil andwater! Women either have a great relationship with money, or it’s a disaster. With approximately 40 million baby boomers coming into retirement in America alone, the question that I have asked myself over and over again is: Are they ready?

Women work their whole lives to earn their pay and make their way, all while hopefully building a successful marriage and having children. They start to think about retirement only when they reach the near-50 mark. If you start thinking about retirement in your 50s, it’s too late.

Having worked in the financial world for over 20 years as a financial advisor,I’ve spent thousands of hours meeting with clients, helping them build retirement plans, and teaching them what investing means. The most significant part of my career focuses on building relationships. For the last 6 years, I have devoted all my energy towards baby boomer women. Many reasons influenced that decision, but the biggest reason was that I had become a statistic again!!

99 THINGS WOMEN WISH THEY KNEW BEFORE HITTING RETIREMENT is your easy-to-read, easy-to-understand pocket coach to inspire you to do more for yourself where money is concerned! Get smart about your money!

Read Helen's A Single Mom's Valentine Story and find out how the 99-series and particularly this book came to be.

Read what Debbie Zipp, the actress best known for her role as "Donna" on Murder She Wrote HAS TO SAY about 99 Things Women Wish They Knew Before Hitting Retirement.

"I am on a plane and I’ve been reading the book on my computer. I haven’t finished reading '99 THINGS WOMEN WISHED THEY KNEW BEFORE HITTING RETIREMENT' but I love it.  I love the simplicity of the set up and how it is organized. Your very valuable opinions, insight, expertise and information are given is such a way that it is so easy to grasp and retain. It is also a handy go to reference guide. I have a financial advisor but I know nothing. It is not my advisors fault. It is mine. As a very busy woman I was overwhelmed by all the information out there and felt I couldn’t take all that time to learn what I needed to learn. This is a perfect guide for me and everyone who is busy and confused by the retirement investment process.  It also helps me understand what my role is in terms of my investments. I now feel I can pick this book up and in a very short amount of time educate myself appropriately so I can take more control in my financial future.”

TEENS GET SEX EDUCATION, BUT NOT FROM PARENTS!
Reuters (07.16.09)
A new CDC report on data from numerous studies shows the sexual and reproductive health of young People ages 10-24 remains a key public health concern.

Among the report's findings:

*Among girls ages 15-17, 30 percent reported they had engaged in sex, rising to 70.6 percent for girls ages 18-19.

*For boys, 31.6 percent of those ages 15-17 had ever had sex, increasing to 64.7 percent of those ages 18-19.

*Almost 70 percent of teenage girls and 66 percent of boys had received instruction on birth control methods.

*Among 18- and 19-year-olds, 49.8 percent of girls and 35 percent of boys said they had talked with a parent about methods of birth control.

*More than 80 percent of girls and boys said they had received formal instruction before age 18 on how to say no to sex.

*Almost 10 percent of young women ages 18-24 reported their first intercourse was involuntary.

*HIV infections among boys ages 15-19 nearly doubled in the past 10 years, from 1.3 cases per 100,000 in 1997 to 2.5 cases in 2006.

This is why every parent needs to read and share this book's insight with their teenager(s).

Read what Dr. Deborah Christie, Clinical Psychologist at the University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, HAS TO SAY about 99 THINGS PARENTS WISH THEY KNEW BEFORE HAVING "THE" TALK

"Where was this book when I needed it? A mother of two young men in their twenties I could have done with this a good 10 years ago - hell I could have done with this when I was growing up. This book hits the spot - if you will excuse the pun—it is informative without being patronising, just funny enough—and written in language that is accessible for pretty much everyone.

The early chapters focus on the really important stuff - relationships before getting into the nitty gritty of knowing your body. After that it is onwards and upwards. To quote that great Woody Allen film title, 'this truly is everything you have ever wanted to know about sex - but been afraid to ask.'

The other important thing is that the authors are experts in their field - that is, they do this stuff, not just research it. So, everything that they talk about comes from experience and personal practice. Which means that it is relevant, pragmatic and real.

I recommend that you buy this book and use it as a resource. You won't be sorry."

Read what Charles Walsh, Don, McGill University, HAS TO SAY about 99 Things Parents Wish They Knew Before Having "THE" Talk

“99 THINGS PARENTS WISH THEY KNEW BEFORE HAVING “THE” TALK is an amazing source of information for anyone looking for answers to specific questions, as well as for those who are just curious about sex and all of its intricacies. As a Don in McGill University’s Residences, I know that new college students often arrive in situations where they are in need of a solid resource for information on sex.  This book is excellent in that regard–it provides a quick reference in times of need, but is also a great read for anyone who is just looking for a distraction. Stories of other teenagers set the scene for a wealth of topics, making for discussions that feel relevant and comprehensible.  The information is quick, easy, and to the point, and provides a unique outlook on sex and relationships, with a great sense of humor throughout.  A fun read for all, but a must-read for every teenager!”

Already in the top 200 out of100,000 iPhone apps in Europe! And, now on sale on iPhone for UNDER ONE DOLLAR!

It’s no wonder I love weddings so much, and no accident that I became a wedding and event designer. I grew up surrounded by it. My father was aBaptist minister, so he officiated many weddings. Mother was a caterer, so she would bake the cake, make the punch and mints, and open a can of nuts. I don’t remember many funny things from those weddings, although I am sure there were many things that went awry. I recall that they were all very sweet and intimate. It didn’t matter that there were just a few people in attendance; that made it more endearing. I miss those simple weddings where they promised to have and to hold until death would them part. More of those folks remained married than those who are getting married today. Was it the simplicity of the time, or was it that they had been taught the meaning of commitment? That was in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In the twenty-first century, we think we must have a wedding that costs thousands of dollars. The truth is that it doesn’t matter if you have an elaborate wedding or a simple one—the end result is the same. You are married!

99 THINGS YOU WISH YOU KNEW BEFORE PLANNING YOUR WEDDING is a simple, easy-to-read pocket coach that will help the couple understand what really matters on your wedding day. Rich or poor has nothing to do with a “memorable” wedding; what you do with that day does.
