Have you been bamboozled by the billion dollar weight loss industry? If so, you are far from alone! What if everything you had ever heard or read about 99 series book Losing Fat 4 Life, author Brad Kinglosing weight was wrong? What if dieting is actually making you gain even more fat?

#1 Fitting Into Your Genes

Besides the fact that many individuals sit back and blame their “so-called” poor genes on their mom and pop (and their mom’s and pop’s mom and pop, and so on), there is a whole new area of science called epigenetics, which dictates that there is something above the genes that control who we become—it happens to be our mind.

Epigenetic researchers like former medical school professor Bruce Lipton, PhD, indicate that it is our perceptions—or too often our misperceptions of our environment (in other words, our belief system)—that actually control how our genes behave. And, all this time we were under the assumption that our genes control everything—WRONG! What this means is that you and you alone have the incredible ability to change your destiny; all you have to do is change your belief system (more on this later).

“Forget about the consequences of failure. Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success.” —Denis Waitley

#9 Don’t Let Your Diet Control You

Our bodies only have a limited storage capacity for carbohydrates. Therefore, any carbohydrates not used immediately by the body or stored as glycogen, are converted into triglycerides (the most prevalent form of fat in the body) and stored within the 30 billion fat cells throughout the body with the aid of LPL (and insulin of course). So, as you can see, food does not have to contain fat to become fat in your body.
Just as we can send our body messages for continual fat storage through the wrong dietary choices (i.e., excess high glycemic carbs), inactivity, and excess stress, we can also create the proper environment for continual fat loss by avoiding fat storing (processed) carbohydrates and consuming more fruits and vegetables, high quality proteins, and good fats.

The take-home message is clear: instead of allowing your diet to control you by placing your body in a fat storage environment, it’s time you learned to control your diet and, thus, the fate of your metabolism.

“You wait for fate to bring about the changes in life which you should be bringing about by yourself.” —Douglas Coupland
