99 Things Parents Wish They Knew Before™ Having the "Talk"
Dr. Tellier completed his residency in Family Medicine at the
Montreal Children’s Hospital where he developed an interest
in adolescent health. As a result, he did a fellowship in
Adolescent Health at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. Since
then he has been involved in offering care to young people in
a variety of settings. He has given presentations locally, nationally
and internationally on a variety of subjects related to
adolescent health including sexuality, gay and lesbian health
issues, and club drugs. His current research interests include
medical student welfare issues, the epidemiology of Human Papilloma
Virus between partners and the evaluation of a CD-ROM developed
with Marius Wolfe and McGill Molson Medical Informatics entitled
“Sex and Contraception” which is part of a year round
health education campaign for students on campus. Currently he
is working on developing a Web Site on Sexually Transmitted Infection
and one on Healthy Living for university students. Dr. Tellier
has served as a volunteer on the Board of Directors of Head and
Hands, Passages, a home for young women on the street, Projets
d’intervention auprès des mineurs prostitués,
AIDS Community Care Montreal and he coordinates the medical team
and health education project for BBCM.
